Marnie brass and black wall sconce and the Riely bath bar with a brass backplate from Mitzi by Hudson Valley Lighting

Just ask the woman who realizes she’s wearing way too much bronzer at brunch or the man who missed a large swath of stumble on his chin — good bathroom lighting is pretty darn important. Of course, the design-savvy among us are used to putting bathroom lighting on a pedestal for other more aesthetic reasons. Beautifully designed and engineered bath bars, sconces, flush mounts, (semi-flush mounts) and pendants transform utilitarian spaces from a place to simply take care of business to a luxurious, peaceful and rejuvenating retreat.

Read on to find out what retailers across the country choose as their favorite new bathroom lighting collection and how they’d style it.

Bianco bathroom vanity light with three lights and gold backplate from Kalco Lighting

Illuminating Interiors, San Diego

Right now, we’re loving:

The Bianco bath collection from Kalco Lighting. It’s clean, sleek and low profile. The linear bar references the cabinet handles that are so popular now. The clear spun glass softens and diffuses the LED lamps. And we love the scaled-down glass shades.

It rocks because:

It’s just a great design incorporating all the current trends like a polished nickel finish, marble, clear glass, LED and a small scale — yet it’s still a classic look.

We’d style it:

Over an LED backlit mirror, over a vanity. This would look stunning in a master bath with white cabinets, polished nickel hardware and marble flooring and a marble shower.

Our customers are looking for:

Smaller scaled fixtures that aren’t so bulky. The larger glass shades and oversized back plates are starting to look dated. With LED on the scene, fixtures are getting smaller and brighter. Customers prefer clear shades over frosted. With integrated LED, the lamp source is hidden, so it gives the clear glass a cleaner, modern look. We are selling less traditional style bath lights and more transitional and modern. People like that clean look over a mirror.

Marnie wall sconce and Riely bathroom bar vanity light from Mitzi by Hudson Valley Lighting

WaterPlace, Crown Point, Indiana

Right now, we’re loving:

Mitzi by Hudson Valley Lighting’s Marnie sconce in aged brass/black paired with the Riley light bar in aged brass.

It rocks because:

Black and brushed gold (aka aged brass) is hot right now in bath fixtures, and these lights complement what people are picking out now. These fixtures from Mitzi are current, fresh and affordable. They have a great relaxed style with a bit of luxurious glamour.

We’d style it:

With pretty much anything. These fixtures can go with so many styles from Mid-Century Modern to Vintage Industrial. We especially love them in a Boho Glam bathroom.

Our customers are looking for:

Affordable quality and good design

Ellery Gros-Grain Bow small sconce from Kate Spade for Circa Lighting

Heritage Lighting, Lambertville, New Jersey

Right now, we’re loving:

Kate Spade’s Ellery Gros-Grain Bow small sconce from Circa Lighting.

It rocks because:

It’s elegant and versatile. It complements virtually any decor thanks to its variety of finish and size options.

We’d style it:

In a small powder room. We’d pair two small sconces on either side of a frameless oval mirror above the vanity.

Our customers are looking for:

Tasteful and unique fixtures with custom finishes and/or capabilities
