Interior designer Mark Cunningham today announced the launch of MARKED, a furniture, fabrics and found objects line.

MARKED is a distillation of Cunningham’s three decades of practice in luxury design. His meticulous sensibilities result in spaces that are as comfortable as they are composed, and his singular style and attention to lifestyle are routinely lauded by Elle Decor and Architectural Digest.

For the first time, Cunningham shares his vision with the trade community. A refined furniture line produced by local artisans presents favorites from Cunningham’s portfolio of custom designed pieces, and introduces newly imagined shapes to fulfill a collection that is versatile and timeless. Inspired by his lifelong affinity for ceramics, the premier textile collection from MARKED reinterprets the streamlined patterns and restrained scales favored by some of his personal muses. A curated selection of found and vintage objects, sourced globally and from his own private collection, showcases Mark’s deep regard for provenance, craftsmanship and quality.

Furniture

The furniture line from MARKED is designed with an eye toward legacy. Comprised of select favorite pieces Cunningham custom-built for clients through the years as well as new shapes debuting now for the first time, the upholstery and casegoods in the collection are versatile enough to withstand changing tastes and trends, and built to maintain their integrity for generations. In designing furniture pieces intended to become heirlooms, quality of material is paramount.

Cunningham started with solid hardwood maple and placed it in the trust of local woodworkers who he has been working with for 15 years. MARKED upholstery pieces are joined with dowels for maximum strength and durability, and feature coil springs in the seats and hand-tied backs. The cushions are engineered specifically for each frame, and incorporate a unique process of channeling the fill (80 percent down/20 percent feathers) to ensure they keep their shape over time.

Full customization is offered on any of the pieces.

Textiles

Woven from all natural cotton and linen fibers, and engineered for use across multiple applications, the textile line from MARKED is devised to serve a wide range of projects. The first collection of fabrics from MARKED is inspired by Cunningham’s love for ceramics, and features his reinterpretations of patterns and colors used by some of the prolific ceramicists that have influenced his aesthetic.

Establishing a textiles line through MARKED offers Cunningham the opportunity to experiment with design in ways he isn’t typically known for. As it develops, the MARKED fabric line will showcase color palettes, patterns and textures that will help to broaden the definition and versatility of the Mark Cunningham ethos.

The collection is available for viewing by appointment To the Trade through Cunningham’s studio space at 15 West 37th Street, 14th Floor New York, NY 10018. To make an appointment, visit https://markedny.com.
