Nominations are open for the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Class of 2021

Nominations for the Class of 2021 for induction into the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame are now open. All members of the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation are eligible to nominate and to second a nomination.

“One of the special benefits of being a member of the Foundation is your privilege to nominate someone for induction into the Hall of Fame,” says Martin Ploy, President of the Hall of Fame Board of Directors. “We all know that special individual who has risen above others with the way they have impacted our industry with their creativity, innovation, philanthropy, and their ability to influence change and initiate action. This is the kind of person who has created a proud legacy and deserves consideration for induction. Not only is this your opportunity, but your unique responsibility to nominate the best of the best.”

Nomination forms can be found online at www.homefurnishingshalloffame.com

During an intensive five-month selection process, the Hall of Fame Selection Committee carefully considers an extensive list of individuals to determine who most exemplifies enduring excellence, superior accomplishments, innovation and creativity and philanthropic generosity of their time, talents and resources. The final selection is determined by a points-based system, with ballots cast individually and online by each of the seven selection committee members. The ballots are received and verified by the Foundation’s accounting firm, Sharrard McGee.

To qualify for consideration, the individual must conduct business in the United States, have served in the industry for at least 15 years, have created a legacy as a positive influence and champion of the industry, and should have achieved the pinnacle of their careers and are at least 60 years old.  For posthumous nominations, the individual must have been deceased for at least 12 months prior to the date of the nomination.

Members may submit nominations by Feb. 1, 2021. Nomination forms and lists of current members, previous nominees and inductees are available on the Foundation website at www.homefurnishingshalloffame.com. Members may also obtain printed copies of the documents by calling 336.882.5900.

To submit a nomination, a re-nomination or a posthumous nomination, Foundation members are required to complete the Nomination Form found on the website at www.homefurnishingshalloffame.com. A print or a 300-dpi digital photo of the candidate must be enclosed. All nominations must be seconded, in writing, by another Foundation member.

The completed nomination package must be postmarked no later than Feb. 1, 2021, and sent to American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation, Inc., 202 Neal Place, Suite 101, High Point, NC  27262.
