AMERICAN HOME FURNISHINGS HALL OF FAME

Nominations for the Class of 2022 for induction into the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame are now open. All members of the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation are eligible to nominate and to second a nomination.

“Nominations by the membership are critical to the selection process and are a privilege reserved for Foundation members,” says Caroline Hipple, president of the Hall of Fame Board of Directors. “The Committee is comprised of leaders from all segments of the industry, and they are ever on a search to identify the individuals who have impacted our industry with their creativity, innovation, philanthropy, and their ability to initiate change. Share with us the great leader that you know, the best of the best, who deserves to be recognized with induction into the Hall of Fame and whose legacy should be memorialized at our new home.”

During an intensive five-month selection process, the Hall of Fame Selection Committee carefully considers an extensive list of individuals to determine who most exemplifies enduring excellence, superior accomplishments, innovation and creativity, and philanthropic generosity of their time, talents and resources.  The final selection is determined by a points-based system, with ballots cast individually and online by each of the seven selection committee members.  The ballots are received and verified by the Foundation’s accounting firm, Sharrard McGee.

To qualify for consideration, the individual must conduct business in the United States, have served in the industry for at least 15 years, have created a legacy as a positive influence and champion of the industry, and should have achieved the pinnacle of their careers and are a least 60 years old.  For posthumous nominations, the individual must have been deceased for at least 12 months prior to the date of the nomination.

Members may submit nominations by Feb. 1. Nomination forms and lists of current members, previous nominees and inductees are available on the Foundation website at www.homefurnishingshalloffame.com. Members may also obtain printed copies of the documents by calling 336.882.5900.

To submit a nomination, a re-nomination or a posthumous nomination, Foundation members are required to complete the Nomination Form found on the website at www.homefurnishingshalloffame.com. A print or a 300 dpi digital photo of the candidate must be enclosed. All nominations must be seconded, in writing, by another Foundation member.

The completed nomination package must be postmarked no later than Feb. 1, 2022, and sent to American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation, Inc., 202 Neal Place, Suite 101, High Point, NC  27262.

New inductees will be honored at the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Induction Celebration on Oct. 23 during the Fall High Point Market.
