Inspired by textile designer Michele Dopp's travels to the south of Spain last July, Fabric & Steel has unveiled its new Texture collection. The collection will be available late this summer through Dopp's studio in Brooklyn and showrooms including Quintus in LA.

The woven line is made up of natural fibers with a subtle hint of metallic in different colorways as seen in the terrain: Burnt, Water, Night, Silvery and Golden.

The collection is inspired by the variety of textures experienced in the mountains of Andalucia, Spain – a region rich with complex, rough surfaces and brilliant light. The silent terrain, vibrant with a warm glow, is pure, clean and natural. Movement through the mountains is exhilarating and rhythmic – like dancing. There are countless encounters of beauty and possibility and peace.

Earthy with some glittering sparkle, the collection features natural fibers juxtaposed with a subtle hint of metallic woven throughout the design.

"Spain was awe-inspiring for me, the diverse landscape including the mountain ridges really played into my existing admiration for texture," Dopp says. "As a textile designer, I wanted to incorporate a woven into my line that played into this — a touch of sheen when the light hits it, a mix of natural fibers, neutral but a bit out of the ordinary."
