Gail Doby, Co-founder and Chief Vision Officer, of Gail Doby Coaching & Consulting, has written a new book that shares many of the secrets and strategies she has used when coaching interior designers. Business Breakthrough: Your Creative Value Blueprint to Get Paid What You’re Worth provides a business model that delivers the right balance of creativity, seamless process and pricing options that designers of all types and sizes can apply to earn more money with less stress.  

As a special gift, a free electronic PDF of the book will be made available to all designers who register for the upcoming  High Point Market to be held June 4-9, 2021. The book is also now available for purchase in Kindle format from Amazon. To kick off the book’s launch, through April 18th Amazon is offering Business Breakthrough at a special promotional price. Thereafter, the Kindle edition will retail for $9.99.  A softcover print edition will go on sale this summer.

“My goal for this book is to share my counterintuitive ideas and golden nuggets so designers have epiphanies that they can carry with them throughout life,” stated Doby. “Many creative people have good ideas on how to produce a beautiful end result but struggle with the financial side of their business.  I want to help designers identify and overcome their skills, gaps and mindset roadblocks. If they will apply the tips that they find in my book to their business, they will immediately see the results.”

Business Breakthrough covers topics such as creating a Creative Value Blueprint,™ which is the right combination of pricing, profit, cost structure, team, systems and processes for your business. It is important for designers to have the confidence to educate their clients to compensate them for the job they are doing for them. The book also gives practical tips on management and leadership skills, what fees to charge, how to market yourself and more. 

Doby’s background in both business finance and interior design coalesced in 2008 around an idea she and her Co-founder, Erin Weir, developed to provide much-needed education and ongoing support to other designers and design firms. Seeing designers offer brilliant interior solutions for their clients while struggling with the business aspects of their profession, Doby and Weir created Gail Doby Coaching & Consulting offering professional-level online education, one-on-one VIP intensive training, ongoing coaching and mentoring, live events, and peer-to-peer mastermind groups.
