The High Point Market Authority announced last week some schedule updates to the fall Design Viewpoints Series (DVS) program presented in partnership with the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).

The speaker for the kick-off session on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 12 p.m., which is also the kick-off for the Keynote Series program, will be Margaret Russell on behalf of Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) President and Founder Paula Wallace, who is now unable to attend.

Russell serves as the Honorary Dean of the SCAD School of Building Arts and Editor-in-Chief of Galerie. The topic, “Transformative Design: The Power of Design and Preservation to Reshape Communities,” will remain the same with Russell speaking on SCAD’s unique approach to adaptive reuse and interior design.

Two new panelists have been added to the 12 p.m. session on Monday, Oct. 16. Joining the panel are Jorge Arango, owner of Not Necessarily Martha, Inc. and an interior design writer, editor and stylist for 30 years as well as Stacy Kunstel, Homes Editor for New England Home, Regional Editor for Traditional Home and Better Homes and Gardens and Co-founder of Dunes and Duchess.

Jason Oliver Nixon and John Loecke of Madcap Cottage will also participate in the panel discussion moderated by Christine Abbate of Novita PR. Titled, “Getting Your Stories Published… Strategies for a Digital Age,” this session will focus on strategies and insider tips for getting your projects and stories published in today’s media landscape.

Additionally, a bonus session has been added to the schedule for 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 16 in the Surya showroom (Showplace 4100). Former Style Spotter and owner of Denise McGaha Interiors, Denise McGaha will present on “How to Deliver Luxury Projects in Under 90 Days.” McGaha will share how she developed her trademarked “Designing with a Deadline” business process and how it changed her design business.

All DVS sessions, with the exception of the bonus session, will take place in the High Point Theatre, located in the Transportation Terminal. Each offers 0.1 IDCEC-approved continuing education unit (CEU) and is open to all High Point Market attendees. The full DVS schedule can be found at www.highpointmarket.org.
