On Thursday, Aug. 1, the City of High Point and the High Point Market Authority will present the Green Market Award to Violino for their proper handling of trash and recycling during the fall 2018 and spring 2019 High Point Markets.

A typical market event generates over 500 tons of cardboard in addition to other recyclable material, all of which is recycled by the City. Showrooms that comply with City guidelines help ensure that the collection of recycling and trash runs smoothly during a very busy time for the Public Services department. Violino consistently followed the City’s collection guidelines, contributing to the clean and safe environment that participants have come to expect.

According to High Point Mayor Jay Wagner, “Having a downtown that is clean and welcoming is important to our residents and to the thousands of market guests and visitors we have twice a year. Businesses like Violino make it easier for our Public Services team to keep our city streets and sidewalks clean. The City is encouraged by their attention to cardboard and trash guidelines and their overall cooperation during such a crucial time. On behalf of the City of High Point, I want to thank Violino for their commitment to the High Point Market and to keeping our city clean and green”.

The Green Market Award is presented annually, recognizing one showroom each following year. Violino will receive the award at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1, at their showroom, located at 123 S. Hamilton Street. Media are invited to attend.
