Hooker Furnishings Promotes Cowan to EVP to Lead Sales of Legacy Brands

Hooker Furnishings, one of the nation’s leading home furnishings resources for case goods, leather furniture and fabric-upholstered furniture, has promoted Matt Cowan as Executive Vice President of Sales for Hooker Legacy Brands. 

In his new position, Cowan will be responsible for sales strategy and management, including coordinating territory development, negotiating customer agreements and finalizing pricing decisions. Cowan will report to Anne Smith, chief administrative officer & president of domestic upholstery, and Mike Harris, president - Hooker case goods & upholstery.

“Matt’s decades of sales experience with Hooker truly brings an impressive range of knowledge to this role that will benefit our customers and associates,” said Smith. 

“Matt has done a tremendous job leading our sales team, driving our Legacy Brand initiatives, and helping the business units understand the needs of our customers. This promotion better reflects the contribution he has made and continues to make in our organization,” added Harris.

Most recently, Cowan was the vice president of sales for Hooker Furniture, a subsidiary of the Hooker brands. Cowan began his career with Hooker Furnishings in 1990 as a sales representative. In 2012, he was promoted to western regional vice president where he was responsible for the management of all sales representatives in western U.SA. and Canada. 

Prior to joining the company,  Cowan was a sales representative with Riverside Furniture and then Universal Furniture. Cowan received his undergraduate degree from Missouri Southern State University, where he majored in marketing management. He resides in Dallas, Texas with his family.
