IMAX Worldwide Home 35 years

IMAX Worldwide Home is recognizing its 35th anniversary with a year-long celebration beginning with the January 2019 winter markets.

Established in 1984, the company got its start when Al and Berrin Bulak began importing various copper pots and containers from their native homeland, Turkey. Soon after, they expanded the line with the addition of accessories, lighting, accent furniture and wall decor through product development with global manufacturers and the procuring of artisan goods from around the world.

With an emphasis on trend forecasting and curated lifestyle collections, IMAX soon became known for their diverse range of products, large variety of styles and beautifully merchandised displays designed to inspire retailers and streamline the buying process. Additionally, drop ship capabilities, private label services, proprietary design and licensed product lines have proven to be a successful resource for customers.

Today, with over 4,000 active SKUs manufactured in 130 factories worldwide, and product in six showrooms, the company is recognized as one of the top U.S. importers to the industry. Still family owned, the 150,000 square foot corporate headquarters in Tulsa, OK, and the 500,000 square foot state-of-the-art distribution center and showroom in Ontario, CA, house nearly 200 full-time employees. With a focus on providing superior customer service, IMAX is a business resource to thousands of customers worldwide.

“Ultimately, it comes down to our people, who through their individual contributions truly make the company great,” said Al Bulak, President of IMAX Worldwide Home. “We feel very fortunate to have enjoyed so many years of continued growth and success. Our vision is to continue our growth into the future by giving our customers a first-class buying experience, by understanding what they need to succeed, and by consistently providing it.”
