Las Vegas Market is now accepting submissions for its proprietary FIRST LOOK trends program, which will showcase design and color trends through two 30-minute, CEU-accredited webinars presented in advance of the Summer 2020 Market, Aug. 30 – Sept. 3, 2020. All Las Vegas Market exhibitors are invited to submit their best-selling or new introductions in furniture, gift and home decor products for consideration by Friday, June 12.

“With COVID-19 causing people to stay at home, it’s more important than ever to have a finger on the pulse of trends in our industry,” said Dorothy Belshaw, executive vice president, chief marketing and digital officer for International Market Centers. “This summer, FIRST LOOK will take a look at the several broad themes – home, family, nature – that are influencing product design and consumer preferences both now and throughout 2020.”

For summer market, FIRST LOOK curator and 24-year magazine editor Julie Smith Vincenti seeks product submissions in all product categories, as well as designs connected to the following themes:

TRADITIONAL-ISH: As Millennials approach new life stages, they are refining and redefining their style preferences. FIRST LOOK tracks the swing to transitional and traditional designs that recall past patterns and forms, yet still appeal to Millennials’ modern sensibilities.

PRINTS, CHARMING: Floral trends, especially small-scale and charming varieties that recall pastoral gardens, cottage living, and meadow-like settings, are captured in this FIRST LOOK chapter. Think perennials, florals, container gardens, and sunny, lush landscapes. Get sweet with romantic embellishments and floral fragrances.

SCREEN TIME: FIRST LOOK reboots for 2020 with office solutions and media furniture with tech-smart features and everyday comforts for the whole family. (FIRST LOOK heads to the kitchen, too, where baking, smart snacking and hydration housewares are a focus area.)

GATHER TOGETHER: Holiday celebrations with friends and family take on new significance in 2020. Think top picks for gift-giving, including easy-to-ship products, tech gadgets, treats for our four-legged family members, gear for sports lovers and solutions for city dwellers.

“FIRST LOOK helps buyers and designers weather these extraordinary times with two virtual learning opportunities,” Smith Vincenti explains. “Attendees will experience fast-paced, comprehensive, product-packed and future-focused webinars that highlight the best of what attendees can expect in all categories on display the Summer 2020 show.”

To be considered for FIRST LOOK, exhibitors must submit digital imagery (measuring at least 5x7 inches at 300 dpi) and a completed product description form by June 12 to Sandra Talley at [email protected] and Julie Smith Vincenti at [email protected]
