Las Vegas Market announced today that it has pre-released its proprietary FIRST LOOK Guide prior to the directional trend program’s unveiling at the Summer 2018 Las Vegas Market, running July 29 to Aug. 2.

The digital “sneak peek” will give an early look at this year’s four central themes – PURIFY, MICRO, WHOLEHEARTED and CELEBRATE! The digital version of the FIRST LOOK Companion Guide is available online here.

“Now in its 15th edition, Las Vegas Market’s semiannual FIRST LOOK program will showcase more than 100 Las Vegas Market exhibitors and on-trend products that reflect the diversity of styles, price points and categories available at Summer Market,” said Karen Olson, Senior Vice President Marketing, International Market Centers. “As the leading furniture, home decor and gift destination in the western United States, Las Vegas Market features an unparalleled assortment of resources from the most trend-forward companies in the industry today.”

All Las Vegas Market exhibitors were invited to submit their newest product debuts, and products from 100+ exhibitors will be featured in the FIRST LOOK display in the Grand Plaza courtyard, the FIRST LOOK Companion Guide and as part of an educational seminar during Market. Market-goers can view the Summer 2018 FIRST LOOK boards on Pinterest (www.pinterest.com/LasVegasMarket) and the #ViewOnVegas Instagram Takeover @LasVegasMarket. During the Instagram takeover, designers and industry tastemakers select and feature their favorite trend-forward products each day of market on the Las Vegas Market Instagram account.

FIRST LOOK curator and 20-year magazine editor Julie Smith Vincenti will host a free, CEU-accredited seminar from 10-11 a.m. on Monday, July 30, with a format tailored to today’s cross-category buyers and lifestyle stores. The seminar, geared to both retail and designer audiences, will showcase the best new-to-market products, and includes a “Top 10” trends forecast for 2018.

Below is a brief description of each trend, as well as a sampling of suppliers and products representative of each:

PURIFY

Many consumers are choosing to embrace serenity and “wellness,” seeking to wear, live with and be nourished by products that are mindfully designed and manufactured. PURIFY showcases finishes, forms and patterns that are as fashion-forward as they are future-focused. A handful of Las Vegas Market tenants and their featured products in this display include: Parks candle collection from PADDYWAX; incense sticks from AMEICO; cruelty-free silk pillow from Sustainable Threads; Kenwood mirror from Howard Elliott; and Webler table lamp from Pacific Coast Lighting.

MICRO

The current movement towards small-scale living is reflected in MICRO, a whole-home display with “macro” style. Product selections and highlighted brands will include: Utopia dining table from Manhattan Comfort; Zander desk with champagne gold finish from New Pacific Direct; Riviera tabletop from Costa Nova; and Twinkle wallpaper from Mitchell Black.

WHOLEHEARTED

WHOLEHEARTED expands on last year’s showcase of lush, verdurous greens to include earthy blues and wholesome purples in an equally hearty color presentation. Highlighted exhibitors and products include: GLO wall decor from Art Trends; faux suede women’s fedora from San Diego Hat Co.; Dip-Dye Indigo throws and pillows from Johanna Howard Home; Papillon area rug from KAS; and Betty sofa from Porter Designs.

CELEBRATE!

From New Year’s Day brunch to Christmas festivities, CELEBRATE! marks all of the special moments, celebrations and seasons. Merchandise selections include gifts and home decor showcasing seasons, gardening, holidays and celebrations. Featured exhibitors and products in this category include: Can-O-Grams from Casual Panache; eco-friendly gift wrap from Wrappily; Daisies, a Novogratz wallpaper design from Tempaper; seasonal gift signs from Rustic Marlin; and Artesian wall mantle from Twin Star Home.
