LIGHTFAIR International Conference Forums Announced

This year's LIGHTFAIR International conference in Philadelphia will feature two forums focused on smart lighting and connectivity and the relationship between lighting and health. Each forum will contain six sessions on Wednesday, May 10 during the lighting and technology conference held at Philadelphia's convention center from May 7-11.

The first forum, titled Internet of Things & Smart Lighting, returns for the second year to cover the latest industry knowledge on controls, sensors and connectivity. Session topics include "Connected Lighting: The Future of Our Cities," "Cyber Security Hygiene for Lighting Systems" and "Intelligent Building Lighting and the Impact of the Internet of Things." The forum will feature speakers representing companies including Frost & Sullivan, Cisco Systems, Philips Lighting and Hubbell Lighting.

The second forum, titled Light & Health, will focus on the connection between lighting and biological health. Courses offered will include "Circadian Light for Your Health: Light, Not Laughter is the Best Medicine," "Blue Light - Is There an Issue?" and "Creating an Immersive 24-hour Lighting Environment for a Pediatric ICU."

Speakers will represent companies including the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Army Medical Department, Lutron, The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and Lighting Research Center.
