Paragon and Propac Images co-owner, Wendell Ray Glassco, died on June 6, 2018. He was 77 years old and had gracefully battled Alzheimer’s for the past 13 years.

Glassco was married to Bonnie McCreless Glassco for 58 years and grew up in a farming family a few miles from Paragon's corporate facilities in Albertville, AL. Glassco’s work career was always rooted in business management, initially with mobile home manufacturing companies, before joining his wife at Paragon in 1977.

During the early years, Paragon was a leading supplier of interior decor packages to the manufactured home industry. Glassco helped introduce the framed art division of the company that began selling to the furniture and accessory industry in 1981 and became the company focus in 1989. With much entrepreneurial spirit, the company grew and in 1991, Propac Images was formed as a sister company to Paragon.

Glassco mentored executives and his three children — Lendell, Malanta and Vince — into management roles in the companies and retired from daily operations in 2008. During this time he also was involved in the startup of two additional companies making products for the framed art industry and was a charter member in opening a locally owned group of banks.

Serving his community and church was always a top priority. Being a generous supporter of The United Way of Marshall County and all the affiliated agencies serving the charitable needs in our community brought him much joy. Glassco's faith in Jesus Christ was always a mainstay in his life and he served Bethany Baptist Church in many capacities including being a deacon and the music leader almost 30 years. He loved being outdoors and playing on the lake and enjoyed fishing but spent most of his spare time tending to his beef cattle farm where he often could think of solutions to a tough business or other challenges while riding a tractor.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to:
