Sien + Co today announced the introduction of a new line of performance fabrics through a partnership with Sunbrella.

The collection features six Sunbrella performance patterns, all part of the Maya Collection, inspired by  Founder and Designer of Sien + Co Alexandra Gibson’s childhood growing up in the Yucatan Peninsula. Five colorways range from dusty rose sunset hues to soothing turquoise colors of the Caribbean sea. The line emulates the perfect imperfection of handcraft with the chunky texture of wool to create the thickest, most texturized Sunbrella products that have ever been made.

“We are thrilled to partner with Sien + Co to launch an incredibly unique collection of fabrics," says Allen Gant III, Director of Outdoor Market at Sunbrella. "Integrating their aesthetics and designs into our Sunbrella products has added yet another layer of intrigue. Full of depth and texture, the collection will surprise those familiar with Sunbrella and has pushed our flexibility even farther. Sien + Co will now be able to offer their beautiful products with performance as part of the foundation, both indoors and out.”

When Sien + Co began dreaming of a new fabric line, it was important to honor the authentic craftsmanship that lies at the heart of the company, while introducing the modern element of performance that puts worry-free living at the center of everything.

“As a trusted brand backed by authentic, sustainable processes, Sunbrella was our only choice of partner for the simple reason they share our dedication of uniting beautiful design with dedicated function,” says Gibson. “Like our home furnishings, Sunbrella fabrics are beautifully made in every sense: by their artistry, and by the skillful, functional design behind them. They’re wine-proof, kid-proof, pet-proof and made to enjoy everyday life.”

Every one of the new fabrics incorporates Sunbrella Renaissance yarns, an innovation in recycling that combines up to 50 percent post-industrial recycled Sunbrella fiber with virgin Sunbrella fiber. Sunbrella Renaissance yarns unite the best performance qualities of Sunbrella—incredible durability, stain resistance and easy care—with a sustainable process that’s good for people, pets and the planet.
