4. The Emergence of Adaptive & Inclusive Design

Shelly Rosenberg of Acorn & Oak believes all spaces should be supportive and empowering. While raising a son with Down Syndrome, she realized that families navigating disabilities are vastly underserved. Combining her parenting and design experience, she creates spaces that are conscious of physical and physiological needs, and works with designers and their clients to foster additional levels of well-being. Her work is featured in Veranda, Architectural Digest and House Beautiful, and she was the first to address disability in the 48-year history of The Kips Bay Decorator Show House. Join her to gain new insights into adaptive design for everyone, from children to the aging-in-place. Check out the full schedule of events at The Point here.
