With the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales drawn to a close, Abbyson finished strong with one of their best seasons to date, recording more than 20,000 shipments during the holiday weekend and boasting a 66 percent increase in sales volume over 2017.

“Being a leading e-commerce brand has really strengthened our position for growth over the Black Friday and Cyber Monday weekend,” said Abbyson’s President, Yavar Rafieha. “With online purchases on the rise, Abbyson continues to see a strong increase in sales year over year. Our e-commerce strategy has never been more important in reaching consumers and we will continue to deliver more digital tools and higher quality content online.”

Abbyson’s top 20 retailers brought in over 95 percent of the total revenue and their top 200 SKUs represented more than 90 percent of the total units sold during the largest sale event of the year. These results reflect that the company’s focus on specific products and targeted promotions equated to a significant increase in sales.

Consumers took advantage of the great online deals with many using those savings to purchase larger and more expensive items during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday weekend. Abbyson reported that some of their best-selling product categories were motion upholstery, dining sets and accent chairs. The shifting trend in sales of these larger home furnishing products resulted in a 250 percent increase in Abbyson’s less than truckload business.

“We were surprised in the dramatic increase in our LTL business considering that most consumers focus on smaller parcel, price-point driven promotions during this time of year,” said Rodd Rafieha, Senior Vice President of Sales. “It was great to see our larger and higher priced collections do so well!”

With an additional weekend between the Thanksgiving shopping holiday and Christmas this year, consumers will have plenty of time for their purchases to arrive and to get their homes ready to celebrate with family and friends this holiday season.
