The Women in Lighting Lightovation reception will be held at Eurofase

On the heels of celebrating its fifth anniversary, the American Lighting Association (ALA) Women in Lighting (WIL) Committee will host its popular networking reception at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, during the Lightovation show in Dallas. The event is sponsored by Eurofase and will take place in the company’s newly renovated Trade Mart showroom (TM 4002).

Attendance at the WIL event is open to everyone, regardless of gender or ALA membership status. These events intend to foster connections for professional women from all areas of the lighting industry and at all levels of experience.

In addition to enjoying food, drink and networking, reception attendees can pick up a commemorative gift from Eurofase and a free WIL T-shirt, while supplies last. They will also have the opportunity to win one of three complimentary delegate registrations for ALA’s 2024 Conference at The Breakers in Palm Beach, FL.

During the event, the WIL Committee will present a check to the group’s 2023 charity, Dress for Success, a global not-for-profit organization that empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and tools to help women thrive in work and in life. A limited supply of collectible commemorative pins will also be on hand for sale at $20 each, with all proceeds benefiting the group’s 2024 charitable cause.

Participants are encouraged to nominate outstanding women for the 2024 Women in Lighting Leadership Award (WILLA) at lightingwomen.com. The annual award recognizes one individual for her role in at least two of the following activities within the past two years:

The WILLA recipient must be a member of ALA, nominated by an ALA member, and voted upon by the WIL Committee. Nominations for the 2024 honor are being accepted through Jan. 31, and will be presented at the June 19-22 Lightovation show.
