The Black Interior Designers Inc. (BID Inc) announces the return of its annual conference, a pinnacle of the organization since its founding in 2010.  For the first time in BID Inc history, the annual conference will take place in Los Angeles, expanding the organization's presence on the West Coast. Hosted by the 1 Hotel West Hollywood, the Black Interior Designers Conference will kick off on the evening of September 20 and conclude in the afternoon of September 23.

The 2023 BID Conference is designed as a place for black interior designers to feel encouraged, exposed and empowered as they learn, connect, and thrive as interior design professionals. The conference will consist of multiple panels each day, networking and team building opportunities, breakfast and lunch Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and evening events for ticket holders. The 2023 BID Conference speaker announcement will come this summer in approximately July 2023.

“Our annual conference is the single most important, largest event this organization plans and is the cornerstone of how our membership has grown over the last 13 years.” Says BID Inc President Keia McSwain. “Bringing back the conference after a three-year hiatus was essential to both our leadership team and our members.”

Tickets for the 2023 BID Conference are available for practicing, aspiring, vetted interior designers, industry allies including non-black designers and brand representatives. Attendees do not have to be members, although membership is highly encouraged, free, and applications are readily available online.

“Most of our original members look back and pinpoint the annual conference as to how they were introduced and got involved with our organization – myself included,” says BID Inc Vice President June Reese. “It is where meaningful industry relationships are sown and where black design businesses blossom. The content is rich, and the community is sincere, allowing black designers to let down their walls and renourish their businesses and their relationships.”

Tickets are $995 per person and go on sale on May 30, 2023. Early bird tickets are $795 and must be purchased prior to August 1, 2023, and student tickets are available for $395. The last day to purchase tickets is Thursday, August 31, 2023. Those interested in purchasing tickets can visit www.blackinteriordesignersinc.com.
