Dallas Market Center Interior Home + Design Center award

Dallas Market Center, the largest and most successful open-daily design center in North America, recently received special design and architecture recognition for its Interior Home + Design Center. The facility, which serves as an open-daily design center for interior designers and retailers, received the Stemmons Corridor Business Association 2019 Award for Best Adaptive Reuse of an Existing Building.

The Interior Home + Design Center originally opened in 1957 as the first building on the Dallas Market Center campus, later re-opening on June 21, 2017 after a multi-million dollar renovation. While staying true to the building’s mid-century design, the updated space features a curated collection of open-daily showrooms from leading home décor companies which serve an active interior design community as well as seasonal markets drawing tens of thousands of loyal retailers from all 50 states and around the world. The transformed building offers showrooms with individual exterior entrances, ample natural light through large exterior windows, hundreds of front-row parking spaces and valet service — all completely focused on the needs of time-sensitive interior designers and their discerning clientele. The visionary project, redeveloping what is an iconic, mid-century building, represents the largest expansion of home décor showrooms in Dallas in more than 40 years.

The Interior Home + Design Center is the centerpiece of a long-range strategic initiative to provide enhanced value to home décor companies by serving market-time attendees as well as the growing number of design customers conducting business at Dallas Market Center each week. Showrooms across the 5-million-square-foot campus, which also includes the Trade Mart and World Trade Center, currently serve a discerning design community actively seeking new resources for residential and commercial projects across the Central U.S. and Latin America. In addition, Dallas Market Center hosts a full calendar of design events throughout the year in partnership with organizations including ASID (American Society of Interior Design), TAID (Texas Association of Interior Design) and the Interior Design Society, which held its national conference at Dallas Market Center in April 2016. In 2019, Dallas Market Center will host 30 design events, the largest of which welcomes more than 1,000 interior designers.

The Interior Home + Design Center includes showrooms from many of the most respected home décor companies in the U.S. including Currey & Company; Go Home; Global Views; Studio | A Home; Tech Lighting; Ellen DeGeneres Lighting; Generation Lighting; Monte Carlo Fans; Phillips Collection; Palecek; Visual Comfort; Ralph Lauren Home; Peninsula Home Collection; ZUO; Bliss Studio; ELLA HOME; Benson-Cobb; Pasha Furniture; Emissary; Shadow Catchers; Ambella Home Collection; American Leather Innovation by Contempo Designs; Ratana Casual Furnishings; The Botanical Mix; and others.

Only Dallas Market Center offers buyers a full array of products across all major lifestyle categories from the leading manufacturers in gift, home décor, lighting, fashion, holiday and floral. As today’s retailers grow their businesses in a highly competitive marketplace, they seek a greater diversity of products and resources which are unique from their online and brick-and-mortar competition. Dallas Market Center delivers both.

In addition, Dallas Market Center is located in the strongest economic zone in the country. Five of the ten fastest growing cities in the U.S. are located within Texas. In addition, travel costs to Dallas are the lowest among all major market destination cities. Two convenient airports, more than 8,000 free parking spaces and an efficient regional light rail stop directly behind the marketplace create easy access to Dallas Market Center.
