Phillips Collection handed out buttons, referring to the part of the legislation prohibiting transgender people from using bathrooms or locker rooms of the gender they identify with. Jason Phillips posted this photo and captioned, “No matter what state I live in, I support equality #hpmkt2016 #repealHB2 @HPMarketNews.”

Jane Dagmi, Editorial Director of Steelyard, wore a “protest dress” to market, getting signatures (and logos) on it from people who came out against HB2. “I was distressed about the NCHB2 ruling and had this Nicole Miller silk satin dress in my closet just waiting for some embellishment,” Dagmi told Residential Lighting. “Alas, rather than write another blog about it, I thought the dress would make a chic canvas for a peaceful and fashionable demonstration. People were so happy to participate in this way — from Mary McDonald to Michael Berman, Jamie Drake and Libby Langdon, Global Views and Currey & Co. — and I just love that it is a dress co-designed with love and passion by so many incredible individuals and brands. I intend to auction the dress with proceeds benefiting an LGBT cause.”

Original Designs, an interior design firm based in North Carolina, posted this brochure from Selamat with the caption: “Since HB2 has been such a controversy for us here in NC it was interesting (and wonderful) to see these around Furniture Market. Tensions were high but this is true …good design is for everyone.”
