High Point Announces Fall Market Keynote Series

The High Point Market Authority announced the lineup for its Keynote Series at the October market this week.

The three keynote speeches will be given by Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) President and Founder Paula Wallace, HGTV stars Drew and Jonathan Scott and Ashley and India Hicks, son and daughter of decorator David Hicks.

Wallace’s keynote session set for Oct. 14 at 12 p.m. will also serve as the kick off to the Design Viewpoints Series. She will tell the story of SCAD’s built environment and its rise as a top art and design university. The session will offer 0.1 IDCEC-approved CEU continuing education credits to designers. Boxed lunch will be provided.

TV personalities and Scott Living founders the Scott Brothers will deliver their keynote on Oct. 14 at 3 p.m. The entrepreneurs will discuss the connection between building a global brand while never losing focus on the details. A book signing will follow the keynote. Doors open at 2:30 p.m.

The series will culminate with a session from Ashley and India Hicks, who will explore the design legacy of their father, David Hicks. The siblings will share stories of growing up in their father’s world and explore how each has reinterpreted his design legacy into their own vision. This keynote will take place on Sunday, Oct. 15 at 2 p.m. with a book signing to follow. Doors open at 1:30 p.m.
