The High Point Market Authority (HPMA) has partnered with interior design professional, author and business coach Kimberley Seldon for a Business of Design educational series for spring market, April 6-10, 2019. Focused on the systems and procedures designers need to increase efficiency, effectiveness and profitability, each session will be geared towards interior designers looking to improve business practices.

The first seminar, “Launch Projects Like a Boss,” will be an intensive study of the first three steps of Business of Design’s 15-Step Project Management Strategy, advocating for a strong start to each project in order to achieve a positive outcome. This three-hour session will take place on Friday, April 5, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. in the High Point Theatre. The cost is $295 per attendee and seating is limited. Additional details and the registration form can be found online at www.businessofdesign.com.

The second seminar will be a complimentary, one-hour presentation titled “No More Negotiating.” Scheduled for Sunday, April 7 at 10 a.m., Seldon will focus on how to manage the designer-client and designer-trade relationships and set necessary boundaries for healthy partnerships. It will also be held in the High Point Theatre. No RSVP is required.

“I’m thrilled to provide High Point Market attendees with an educational series that is focused on the practical, proven strategies we teach at Business of Design. No theory allowed. Our systems and procedures propel designers into a new level of confidence and profitability,” commented Seldon. “Be prepared for in-depth, fast-paced, information-packed presentations – with a touch of brutal honesty and a whole lot of support and encouragement! My goal has always been to help designers discover their worth while achieving the level of success they yearn for, but maybe don’t know how to achieve. That’s what I’m excited to bring to High Point.”

An interior designer with 25-plus years of experience, Seldon launched Business of Design in 2004. Today it is a robust online learning platform and coaching community for interior design professionals. In addition to hundreds of instructional videos, Business of Design hosts BOD Elite Retreats around the globe, BOD Conferences, BOD Meetings and the Business of Design podcast. With over 5,000 members in 50 countries, Seldon has developed a global voice to support and motivate the design industry.

Event details for the educational series can be found on the High Point Market website at www.highpointmarket.org.
