Design industry icon Ann Lambeth has died after a battle with cancer. Vice President of the J Lambeth trade showroom for more than 40 years, Lambeth along with her family, was an integral part of the home furnishings industry.

She also served as an advisor to Rod Lambeth, the CEO of the Tomlinson Companies.

“Ann was a powerhouse,” said Rod Lambeth. “I can’t begin to count the number of designers who have told me that they wouldn’t be where they are today without Ann’s guidance. She was tireless in her passion and work for the design industry and she was a true style maven and design icon. Even more impressively, she accomplished all that she did with a quiet determination and without wanting any accolades. She was truly a beautiful person inside and out.”

A leader in the Washington Design Center, Lambeth had a powerful impact on the industry through her work on a large number of local, regional and national boards. She was also an innovative part of developing and launching international boutique collections for textiles, wallpaper and furniture.

The J Lambeth Memorial Scholarship has been established in her honor. Chaired by Barry Dixon, The Scholarship Awards Committee members will be comprised of leaders in the design industry.
