International Market Centers (IMC) announced that Las Vegas Design Center's (LVDC) monthly "First Friday" series, held next on August 6, will focus on Scandinavian design for modern bathrooms and bathroom technology. Participants in the free session, which will be held in-person at the Las Vegas Design Center at World Market Center Las Vegas, will receive 0.1 CEU credits.

"Scandinavian design raises the bar for modern craftsmanship and technology for every component in a bathroom," said LVDC General Manager Cain Brodie. “In this seminar, we hope to provide interior designers with a deeper understanding of the aesthetics and innovative technology that are popular in modern bathroom designs."

The August session, titled, The Influence of Scandinavian Design on Modern Bathrooms and Bathroom Technology, provides a historical perspective of both Scandinavian design and how that design aesthetic actually continues to drive both the technology and the design of today's’ faucets, showers, plumbing fixtures and accessories. Participants will learn about the in-wall shower system technology and its distinct advantages. Finally, this course will review how to evaluate and specify products and will discuss some recent project case studies.

The session will be presented by Tim Vander Wall, regional representative of Hastings Tile & Bath, the North American distributor of VOLA Taps from Denmark. As the owner of InterArchitectural Products, an independent manufacturer’s representative organization, Vander Wall has represented Hastings and VOLA for over 20 years. He has traveled extensively to provide in-person/on-site training to hundreds of architects, designers and showroom associates on faucet and shower technology and best practices for use of plumbing fixtures and has in-depth knowledge of building and plumbing codes. He has worked on projects in the residential, contract/hospitality and commercial sphere on all levels -- from complete renovations to new luxury hotels and multi-housing units.

The August First Friday session will be held at 10a.m. on Friday, August 6 in LVDC’s Kitchen and Bath Resource Center, room A110. To register to attend, please email kmaas@imcenters.com.

LVDC's next "First Friday" session will be on Friday, October 1.
