Troy Lighting has released a new lighting collection with artist and vintage curator, Carmen Nash of Loft and Thought. The Folk and Flora Collection is Carmen's artistic reimagining of her favorite folk art stories and belief that storytelling connects us to the objects we love.

The collection includes an assortment of eight portables designed by Loft and Thought for Troy Lighting, where natural materials like abaca, terracotta, and more come to life. "In my world of design, palm fronds become lampshades, and lighting is rendered through the visual retelling of my favorite passages from novelists such as Zora Neale Hurston and Toni Morrison. I hope that showing lighting through my lens evokes joy and thought,” shared Carmen.

Carmen Nash was introduced to the world of luxury design through her degree in resort and hospitality management. While curating and selling her vintage furniture collection through Instagram, infusing the essence of creative direction and storytelling that now define her brand Loft and Thought, she began garnering high-profile clients, as well as features in Vogue, Milieu, and Domino magazine. Carmen's nuanced design perspective comes from her spirituality and rich heritage, rooted in experiences as a black southern artist. Weaving these experiences into visual narratives that evoke beauty, emotion, and thought is the premise of her curation and design practice.

Standout pieces include Morri, a tribute to novelist Toni Morrison, Seyla, which embraces a wabi-sabi approach by championing the perfectly imperfect, and Pezante, which was designed in honor of the matriarchal figure in Julie Dash's "Daughters of the Dust” to embody regal, coastal elegance.

The Folk and Flora Collection will be on display at Lightovation in Dallas January 10 -14, and at Vegas Market, January 28 - February 1.

Mitzi also returns with its latest collection in the brand’s Tastemaker Series in partnership with Zoe Feldman. The Zoe Feldman x Mitzi collection includes 26 pieces with lamps, sconces, pendants, flush mounts, and chandeliers, showcasing the eponymous design firm’s signature aesthetic of modernized classicism. Washington D.C. and NYC-based interior designer Zoe Feldman embraces her playful yet thoughtful design sensibility with this collection. Whimsical silhouettes, bold colors, and charming details inspired by classic mid-century shapes create a balanced assortment full of soul and sophistication. "Our designs temper elegance with moments of daring, and above all, they support and elevate how clients actually live," says Zoe.

Soft, rounded shapes feel fresh through an infusion of color, while charming details like scallops provide nice tension juxtaposed with modern frames and colors. Standout pieces include the Sia Chandelier, which is inspired by a mobile and nods to streamlined designs of the 1950s and 60s; Davida features a natural rattan shade that brings a textured, grounded feel that spans styles and eras; and Anne, a vintage-influenced flush mount featuring a fluted, opal glass shade with scalloped edges. The Zoe Feldman x Mitzi collection is available to purchase on Mitzi.com, priced from $170 to $790, and will be on display at Lightovation in Dallas from January 10 -14.
