The National Kitchen & Bath Association has announced that Jan Heck, President and CEO of Miele USA, has been elected Chair of the association’s 2023 Board of Directors, effective January 1. He succeeds Basil E. Larkin, Senior Vice President of Sales at Hestan Commercial Corp.
Larkin and Jan Neiges, CMKBD, Principal of Jan Neiges LLC, both completed their four-year terms and will be leaving the NKBA Board of Directors at the end of this year.
“As an active National Kitchen & Bath Association board member for the past few years, I am truly honored to take on the Chairman role. The NKBA has accomplished many great achievements and I hope to encourage many more. As the Chairman, I will do my best to ensure that the Board, as a whole, plays a full and constructive part in the development and determination of the National Kitchen & Bath’s strategy and overall objectives,” said Heck, who is serving his third year on the board.
NKBA’s CEO Bill Darcy was quick to offer a generous greeting to Heck, stating “As we participate in driving the powerful kitchen and bath marketplace, both domestically and internationally, we’re especially pleased to welcome Jan Heck as our new Board Chair.”
Darcy goes on to note that Heck and others on the board have firsthand experience in the global marketplace and are invaluable to the growth of NKBA and its Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS), which takes place from January 30 to February 2, 2023 in Las Vegas. “We are grateful to the full board for their commitment to this industry and their invaluable insights,” said Darcy. “They each volunteer valuable resources to the overall success of the business of the association and, for that, we are very appreciative.”
In addition to Heck, NKBA also elected Kristen Elder, Vice President of Residential Builder & Showrooms for Ferguson Enterprises, will serve as Vice Chair; with returning board member Ken Williams, President and CEO of Caesarstone North America, who will be taking over as Secretary/Treasurer. Elder will be in her third year on the board, and Williams his second.
Finally, Eduardo Cosentino, EVP Cosentino Group & CEO of Cosentino America, and Kerrie Kelly, CEO & Creative Director of Kerrie Kelly Design Lab, will join the NKBA Board as its newest members, and both will serve four-year terms.
