A photo of a 1947 classic wing chair and matching ottoman has been selected as the winner of leading custom upholstery specialist, Sam Moore’s recently concluded “Search for Vintage” social media contest.

The winner was selected for a submission that was one of the company’s initiatives to celebrate its 80-year anniversary. Launched in early April, consumers, employees, designers and retailers were encouraged to submit images of vintage designs for a chance to win a new chair, fully customized in the fabric and finish of their choice.

The winning photos highlight the vintage wing chair and matching ottoman covered in a damask pattern with a vertically channeled back and nail head trim detail, classic design elements that remain popular today. The chair was a focal point in the winner’s living room and was the backdrop for many family gatherings and birthdays.

“It’s been exciting to take a look down memory lane to see how our vintage designs have evolved, yet so many are still on trend today,” said Sandi Teague, vice president of sales and merchandising for Sam Moore. “This contest has reminded us that our products are not only beautiful home furnishings but are also the centerpieces of many homes and cherished family memories. We are looking forward to continuing the celebration of our 80th anniversary this Fall with more activities planned for High Point Market.”

All submissions that were collected throughout the contest will be shared on its social media platforms as part of the company’s #80MooreYears social media campaign highlighting significant milestones and a variety of historical photos.
