Universal Furniture at PGA Tournament
The Universal hospitality space for the PGA Honda Classic was shoppable.

Whole-home furnishings resource Universal Furniture, recently created a shoppable hospitality space for the Honda Classic, a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour in south Florida. Located at the PGA National Resort and Spa, the tournament provided a luxurious location for Universal to make its furnishings available for purchase with all proceeds going to charity.

The Legends Club, a white-glove service hospitality space on the 18th green served as the location for Universal’s shoppable retreat, providing a beautiful view of the course set with lush, elegant furnishings that allowed guests to relax and enjoy the tournament in luxury.

Universal outfitted the hospitality space with furnishings from the Coastal Living collection including the Kiawah Sofa and Bahia Honda Chair upholstered in Crypton Home performance fabrics. The Kiawah Sofa added a refreshing feel to the space with clean, simple lines and a single-cushioned bench seat, set atop rounded legs with casters. Similarly, the Bahia Honda Chair brought a relaxed feel with a fully upholstered body and rounded wooden arms, a contemporary style that works in transitional spaces as well. The addition of Crypton Home performance fabrics to the pieces provided peace of mind, as the cleanable fabric stands up to the wear and tear of entertaining while still remaining beautiful.

“Enjoying golf with friends is a luxury, made even better with Universal furnishings in a beautiful setting such as the PGA National Resort and Spa,” said Senior Vice President of Marketing Neil MacKenzie. “We were thrilled to participate in a unique design project that put our furnishings on display while also raising money for a good cause.”

In addition to furnishings, Universal’s shoppable hospitality space featured overhead chandeliers and table lamps from lighting and décor company Regina Andrew Detroit. The entire space was designed and expertly arranged by Cabot House Furniture and Design, a Universal Furniture retail partner located in Lantana, FL.

Additionally, Universal Furniture was also featured in the Outdoor Oasis located behind the 18th green that served as a welcome location for all tournament visitors upon arrival. The 30-foot by 30-foot space was outfitted with select furniture items from Universal’s Coastal Living Outdoor Collection and guests were kept cool by fans from Big Ass Fans.

All items within the spaces at the Legends Club and the Outdoor Oasis were shoppable onsite, and 100 percent of the proceeds were donated to Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, a pediatric hospital in Miami.
