Lighting Magazine 2018

The 2018 edition of Lighting magazine is now on newsstands. Produced by the American Lighting Assn. (ALA) in partnership with Better Homes and Gardens, the new issue features a fresh, sophisticated cover and stands out on newsstands and in ALA showrooms as a high-end luxury publication.

“We’re so excited about this year’s edition of Lighting,” said Karman Hotchkiss, Executive Director of Meredith Corporation’s Special Interest Media. “This issue calls out tons of style and lighting trends, showing readers lots of reasons they should update their home with fresh fixtures. We’ve branded the workbook chapter to especially call out ALA sponsorship, reminding readers that visiting an ALA showroom is the best way to get all their lighting needs addressed."

With hundreds of inspiring images and design ideas, Lighting is a valuable tool for lighting professionals and customers alike. Some showroom staff ask their customers to mark their favorite fixtures and styles throughout the magazine as a way to determine what they like and want to purchase. The tips and articles, such as “How to visit a lighting showroom,” help homeowners prepare for their visit by pointing out appropriate questions to ask and helpful measurements to bring, which leads to a more productive showroom and buying experience.

Showroom supporters of ALA’s BiNational Advertising and PR Program received a complimentary supply of Lighting magazines for their customers. Additionally, designers and homeowners may receive a digital copy of the magazine from ALA by going online to Ideas.Lighting. It is not unusual for a customer to take their copy of Lighting to a showroom to purchase products shown in the magazine.

Larry Lauck, Executive Vice President of ALA, said “We appreciate the many ALA members who have continued to support Lighting for the past 12 years. Their support ensures that the importance of lighting, ceiling fans and controls stays in the minds of homeowners through our partnership with Meredith Publishing.”
