Connected Lighting Lunch & Learn with Peter Romaniello

Industry experts predicted that 2018 would be the Year of the Smart Home, and now that sales on Google Homes and Amazon Echos are continuing to climb, retailers and designers need to be able to meet their clients' smart and connnected home needs. With so many different products and prices, it's tough to know how to set client expectations and deliver much-needed guidance on this rapidly changing industry.

This lunch-and-learn seminar will address two important points: how to identify the client’s needs and expectations and current technologies and their quality versus cost. Industry professionals looking to give themselves an edge should attend to learn what's new in smart and connected lighting.

For those that pre-register, lunch will be provided.

Jackie Von Tobel: Designing with Light

Some designers and tastemakers like to refer to lighting as the "jewelry of the room," but lighting plays a crucial role in the design and function of a space. While clients may love picking out new chandelier and pendants, they'll appreciate a well-designed lighting plan when they're cooking, working and entertaining in their homes.

Award-winning designer Jackie Von Tobel will lead this CEU-credit course on lighting and how to make the most of a lighting plan. After the seminar, listeners can head to the Currey & Company showroom (WTC 10000) for a cocktail hour.

The Style Eyes: A Trend Scouting Panel Discussion

Last month, Dallas Market Center announced its new style-spotting program, Style Eyes.

"The Style Eyes will identify must-see and unique products and trends across the marketplace including gifts, home decor, lighting, holiday/floral and fashion," the announcement read. "Each day of the show, members of the Style Eyes team will offer Instagram posts highlighting their discoveries. Market guests and fans are invited to participate by following individual team members as well as Dallas Market Center on Instagram and by using #DallasStyleEyes. Products identified by the Style Eyes will also be called out with special signage inside exhibitor showrooms and booths during the global trade event in Dallas that welcomes tens of thousands of attendees."

At this event, Adam Glassman, Creative Director at O, The Oprah Magazine, will lead a panel discussion with the Style Eyes team as they talk trends, styles and surprises they've seen at market. If you've been taking notes about what you've seen at market, this discussion may help you put your own notes into perspective and make informed purchasing decisions.
